It seems that it’s becoming a trend in America for mass shootings to occur almost every month. This time it took place in San Bernardino, California.
On Wednesday morning, Syed Rizwan Farook, 28, and Tashfeen Malik, 27, dropped off their six-month-old baby with Farook’s mother, saying they were going to a doctor’s appointment. By noon, according to police, the couple had donned assault clothing, armed themselves with rifles and stormed a holiday party attended by San Bernardino County employees, killing 14 people and wounding 17 others. Before sunset, after a shootout with police, they were both dead, leaving a grieving community with few clues to puzzle out the motive for the carnage.
Police are investigating but so far, there is no motive for the shooting.
The media is ALREADY trying to paint the picture that this might have been a terrorist attack.
Really? A terrorist attack? Why would they say that? Oh yeah, because of the shooters’ names. Funny how the media already want to describe this as a potential terrorist attack but are holding steady on whether the Planned Parenthood shooter was “mentally ill”.
The issue and debate of gun rights is surely going to come up again in America. Sides are going to argue their points, the US Congress is going to sit on their hands and nothing will be done about it until everyone forgets and gets distracted by an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
The community that was shot up will take time to heal. But the question is: When are these types of shootings going to stop?
